Georgi Tsvetkov vs. Serhii Kalinichenko was arguably one of the most captivating matches of the evening at King of the Table 12. Despite a final score of 4-0 in favor of Georgi, the fight was far from being a simple formality. Each round required fierce resistance and strategy from Tsvetkov, who had to draw on his resources to hold off a determined Kalinichenko. The latter, although defeated, posed serious threats throughout the match, giving nothing in and forcing Georgi to remain on his guard at every moment.

The first round was extremely close. From the start, Serhii Kalinichenko opted for the flop press technique, quickly realizing that his top roll would not be enough to defeat Georgi Tsvetkov. Despite an apparent disadvantage and close to defeat, Georgi managed to turn the situation around. Thanks to remarkable combativeness, he gained the upper hand to win this first round.

In the second round, Georgi Tsvetkov quickly took the lead with a devastating top roll, forcing Serhii Kalinichenko into an irregular defensive position. Despite three warnings from the referee to correct his posture, Serhii was unable to reposition himself correctly. He ended up losing the round by referee decision.

In the third round, Serhii Kalinichenko returns with his flop press, the only technique that seems to put Georgi Tsvetkov in difficulty. Despite an impressive defense, Georgi initially fails to outplay Serhii. However, the strap came off in the middle of the fight, the referee ordered a restart. During the restart, Georgi capitalized on the opportunity and, thanks to his top roll, finally managed to beat Serhii.

The fourth and final round highlights Serhii's fatigue, visibly exhausted. He gives everything he has to once again resist Georgi's top roll, but ends up giving in to the exceptional power and endurance of his opponent. Georgi Tsvetkov thus concludes the match with a clear, but hard-won victory.

Post-match reactions

At the end of the meeting, Georgi Tsvetkov recognized the intensity of the fight by admitting that his arm was “destroyed”. He congratulated Serhii Kalinichenko for his performance and affirmed that the latter fully deserves his place among the best in the super heavyweight category. When asked about his next potential opponent, Georgi expressed interest in a match against Genadi Kvikvinia or Dave Chaffee.

For his part, Serhii Kalinichenko, visibly disappointed, admitted to having made strategic errors during the match. He particularly regretted having used the flop press in the first round, which considerably reduced the effectiveness of his top roll for the following rounds. According to him, he should have kept this technique for the third round and focused on exhausting Georgi during the first two with his top roll even if it meant losing the first two rounds.
